Meghan Navoy, 23, quit her job in the fast fashion industry in Brooklyn and moved to Detroit in August looking for opportunity. She’s aiming to grow her small business, A Wool Story, in the Motor City where she says the entrepreneurship spirit is high and living expenses low. Navoy, an Illinois-native, creates one-of-a-kind handmade knits from 100 percent recycled wool from reclaimed sweaters. She hopes to eventually open a storefront in Detroit.
